Editing tag, max character count, and replace image with edit
Hello! These suggestions have undoubtedly been made before in various different ways, but I'm combining them all in one suggestion and supplying a reason which the Discord team may not be aware of!
Reason: I run several RP Discords which sort of act as a text-based D&D campaign between players. I supply images, use bots, and have a lot of narration in-between responses to engage my player base and immerse them more into the world.
But what really kills immersion? Seeing the "(Edited)" tag, splitting up messages (if they use mobile, even if I put an invisible space, they'll see the cut), and accidentally realizing I used the wrong image fifty responses in the future. As a perfectionist, these problems really stick out to me like a sore thumb.
Suggestion: Toggle option for "Edited" message, incremental max character count, and the ability for editing to work with images.
All of these things could potentially be noted by hovering over the server icon, or below what Discord refers to as the "Server Banner". (i.e "Warning: This server has editing notifications disabled.", "Warning: This server allows for messages x characters over Discord's limit.")
With the final suggestion, it should just be added in naturally. When you edit an image/message with an image, it could look like this:

Just some suggestions from a person who might use Discord in a different way from the norm! Thanks for hearing me out!

I also want this, I came on here to submit similar request.
Thanks!
