Much quotes, one after another, such context
The quoting system is a nice feature that is helpful in persisting context of a conversation but I am seeing a lot of users over doing it.
My main gripe right now is with how people are using Quotes. Some people over use Quotes for nearly ever message, one after the other just when responding (even if the context doesn't change by quoting) and it ends up making the chat difficult to read. While I could ask them to stop, it is a feature of discord and I don't want to make anyone feel bad for using a feature that everyone has access too.
Please allow Quotes to be collapsed in some way that cuts the message down to less than say 100 characters (or up until a word wrap occurs) unless hovered over or `maximized` somehow.
e.g. this VVVV
| This is a quote with a lot of characters in it that word
| wraps on phones and takes up space.
@Viscoci
e.g. Could look like this
| This is a quote with a lot of characters i... @Viscoci | +
the plus sign or something representing an expansion of the message could be clicked to show the full quote in its default structure
It would be desirable at least to have this as an option in settings. By default, the quote system is good but I think adding this feature on top as an option in settings or a variation of this would improve it quite a lot.
Sort of unrelated, but:
Collapsible Embeds (ability to almost hide it and also bring it back)
Additionally, I would also like to see links to messages be treated as a collapsible embed that shows a preview of the message if it is from the same channel at least. I'm sure you could figure out how to do it across channels and maybe even guilds but I think that at least within a channel, if a message comes from it, this preview idea would be very nice to have.
One last thing, it would be nice if mentions inside a quote did not mention a person. This would probably require a lot of refactoring so I wouldn't expect it but as it is right now, pings are through the roof.
