Discord UI Update Feedback (Cozy Mode)

This is late coming, I was rather ill for a good bit, but despite my slowness, here's my feedback in detail on the new design of the desktop app.

Things I Like or Don't Mind:

  • Changes to how pings display. It's different, but fine.
  • Changes to the red New Messages marker. Different, also fine.
  • Changes to how Blocked messages display. I actually like it, its less intrusive, which is a benefit, given that blocks are often made in heated, emotionally stressful situations.
  • Time stamps appearing on hover over in Cozy Mode. This is wonderful. Thank you.

Things That Are Annoying but Livable:

  • Changes to the leading (line spacing) between messages in the same message group. Text is further apart from other text, which I find not needful in Cozy Mode. Worse, though, in my opinion, is that when images are posted with text, the padding between the text and the image beneath it has been reduced. This makes the text harder to read. It needs a few more pixels of padding.
  • Removal of horizontal lines between messages in Cozy Mode. I really dislike this, but find it livable when "Space Between Message Groups" is set to 24 px.

Things That I Cannot Stand:

  • Message highlighting upon mouse hover-over. It's distracting, unsightly, jarring, and I can't stand it. It's making the platform painful to use and putting me off from wanting to use it. I need an off toggle for this in order to function without frustration, or if you could maybe have the highlight show only when the message is clicked, that would also help.
  • Emoji suggestion. The bright flash of color that strobes at me when just scrolling through the page is very annoying. I'd like to be able to add and view emojis without seeing the suggested ones, I'd like an off toggle for that. I know it's a possibility because the app has responsive design that hides them when the window is narrowed down.

    I HATE the Highlighted messages and emoji Suggestions. They are annoying ans an eye sore and I want them gone or I will have to find another chat program

    Although there have been a ton of Updates in the last week (at least 10), things still have NOT changed! You can change now the space between message groups, but that's it!

    - NO horizontal line between messages for better readability

    - Emoji Suggestion for reactions still there

    - Active Now Bar still present with no option to opt-out! (Privacy Violations included!)
