Pop-out windows
So, I can see a few different suggestions for pop-out windows, and I'd like to expand on them.
Instead of limiting that functionality to 1 portion of discord, why not add it to all portions? A few examples:
- You use reactions as a poll/survey, maybe as a signup post of some kind. But you're also trying to carry a conversation, while taking note of the people who reacted via that tiny in-app window. A pop-out of the reaction window or a specific chat window would solve that.
- Perhaps you've got some server admin to do, but are [again] trying to carry a conversation somewhere, related or otherwise. Instead of jumping back and forth between the 2 sections constantly, it'd be nice to have the settings menu pop-out.
I can see the aesthetic behind having a single, unified window [save for the video pop-out], but I can imagine giving us the option for global pop-outs would do wonders for people's work-flows.
Thanks!

This would be amazing. I would love to be able to have multiple text chat windows open with a space efficient UI that I can arrange and look at all at once on a side monitor, outside of the main discord window. They can still exist there too still.
To chat without having to switch views around so much, and work with multiple conversations easily would make me very happy!1 -
I am active on several servers and I would really like to be able to keep a couple of channels active in the foreground with the desktop client. I come from the dark ages with IRC clients where each channel had its own separate window so you could see what was going on at a glance without having to click around.

Pop-out chat would really be great. Steam and Discord are my main chat apps, and not being able to pop out DM windows in Discord makes using it for chat while also remaining active in channels very inconvenient compared to Steam, which allows a separate window for each chat, and/or a multi-tab window. Please add the option to pop-out DMs, and add similar functionality as appropriate throughout the app as described in this thread.
