FUN FACT #21
HAL Laboratory, the developer responsible for Kirby, Mother, and Super Smash Bros. series, was named HAL because each letter put them ahead of IBM.

This fun fact was included with an email letting me know of messages at the Official Panzer Corps 2 server.

This fun fact is a rip off from the 1968 sci-fi movie “2001: a Space Odyssey”. I hope HAL Laboratory is not taking credit for this. The computer in the movie that the astronaut Dave has to deal with is named HAL for that exact reason. Each letter in HAL is the preceding letter if each letter in IBM. Please stop giving HAL Laboratory kudos for this theft of another’s creativity.
