Suggestion: Boolean @mentions
I can see a lot of uses for mentioning specific people of a role. For example, I'm moderating my university's discord server and we have quite a lot of users in different majors and such. They have the roles @engineering, etc etc. Some of the more helpful members might want to answer questions but do not want to monitor the chat all day, so we set a @answerer role. This creates a dillema, if a person tags @engineering, many people that do not want to be bothered are tagged and if they tag @answerer, then answerers not in engineering would be tagged. If it was possible to @engineering&&@answerer to tag only people with BOTH roles, it would make things a lot easier for people to get answers and for people to help answer questions.

This would also be a good solution for servers centered around finding teammates for games or such. Currently you need strange roles like @Matchmaking_EU and the like. Would add a lot of flexibility to the mention system.

My server has 40+ roles and with trimming, maybe 30 roles. It would cut the role to 20 or so if it was possible. Some roles are just for fun and don't allow you to mention the role but it would also be cool if it was possible to only ping @ComputerScience&&@Cuties (in this example, only cuties are pingable) to send a message to the cuties in the computer science department :)
It's really something I'd like because using @mention twice in a message is essentially an 'or' operator, why not enable people with servers to clean up their roles with an 'and' operator!

I just submitted this idea as well, would love to see this implemented!
You could also do @role&&@here to only ping members of the role who are online.
