MIcrophone Options
I cannot possibly fathom that I am the only person on Discord that wants to be able to use voice in Discord while also still either looking at a game or while typing in other windows.
I also do not want to use my voice to activate the mic for a lot of different reasons.
I want the microphone left open, essentially. However, I don't see a way to do that.
A little help would be very cool.

I assume you're talking about the Desktop app?
Go into Settings, under 'Voice & Video', change it to Push to Talk and create the keybind you prefer to use to talk with your voice.
Edit: it's the same in a browser, but the browser page needs to have input focus for the keybind to work.
Edit Edit: The mic is already left "open", when you have it set to "Voice Activity" it just means it doesn't transmit any data over the network as there would be no point in using bandwidth to transmit ambient noise. But you CAN make it super sensitive, I'm sure that would be as close as you can get to "just transmit everything".0 -
The problem with voice activation is that it apparently is cutting off the front of my sentences. I was hoping there would be an option for a truly open mic setting.
Thank you for the options you listed, however.
