Setting notification levels

It would be really good for me if i was able to set the  notifications i do or don't want on a per person by person basis.  So lets say for Joe i want to have push notifications and set a specific sound to play when they chat instead of the standard ding so i know who it is that is messaging before i even look.  Having this go above the global setting so you can set important people this way would really be helpful.
