Android Camera Issues
So I've got a few problems with the Discord's built-in camera (tested with both the older GUI and the most recent beta version):
1) The obvious one - the aspect ratio. It shoots in 16:9, but the viewfinder is clearly not that, so I sometimes see unwanted objects in the finished photo.
2) The camera image is slightly glitched - a few far right columns of pixels are cloned from the far left. Not a huge deal but still kind of annoying.
A potentia fix would be to make Discord launch your own default camera app with the "Ok" and "Retry" option preset like some other apps do to take a single image. But if Discord uses extra unique processing (which I'm sure it does, since the images are under a megabyte if taken in Discord, but are 5 and more if I shoot with the default camera app), then you should probably fix issues with the built-in camera instead (by adding a taller viewfinder, fixing the artefact glitch and, maybe, even an option to change the aspect ratio).

You already said it all, pretty wild that this has been this way for so long.
I wanted to add that another way of making this less painful could be to have an option to send compressed pictures, since my phone's regular photos exceed the 8MB file size limit and I can't use them at all.0
