[bug] Text selection "loops around" and inverts
Since a recent update there's been this strange problem with the way text selection works when you hold down the ctr+shift keys. Globally in text systems, when you press ctrl+shift+left, the selection will increase to include the entire word to the left of where the beam cursor is right now. If you do it again, it will increase to include the word to the left of that. And so on.
The problem: When you do this at the start of a sentence, the selection will loop back around to the other end of the sentence, include that, and then invert the selection.
So, if I have this

And I ctrl+shift+left, I get this wrong selection.

The expected behavior is nothing should've happened, since there's no word to the left of "some". This only seems to be broken with ctrl+shift+left at the start of sentences, and not with ctrl+shift+right at the end.

I was about to post this same thing. It's particularly annoying because it means I can't mash or hold left to select to the start while using ctrl to make it go faster.

More than 7 months later, and it's still bugged. Holding down "Ctrl+Shift+Left Arrow" still makes it loop around.
