Hide notifications for specific (spammy) users in public channels

I am looking for an option to hide notifications from a certain user (unless PMs to avoid getting beeps for every spam they put in public channels. When reading through the channels, I can ignore their output, but it is not possible for notifications really. I just want to make sure that I don't miss context to some discussions or that I can still listen to them if necessary on voice in trials.

    Just mute them or mute the channel in the server or mute the whole server

    Mute mutes them in voice too, right? Which is a potential problem in trials. Block would be a problem too, since I might have to react to direct messages still. The whole point is to reduce the notification spam of just these users - not to hide their messages when reading up on the chat. Just having a few people in public channels that have to tell about every little shit they did - literally. I am no administrative position, too, to be able to tell them to bugger off with their crap.
