Internalisation
Hello! This is a post which talks about internalisation, and that's why I think this post'lln't succeed and why I hope I am communicating with someone not from United stated, but if you are from US, then I'm sorry for angering you.
What I am talking about? The differences between rest of the world and United states, and difference between English UK and English US.
Why do I think this should be changed? Because "Discord" serves international community, and serves their (Discord's.) services in their (Communities's.) countries.
What this includes? All of this.:
- Football VS soccer. This one is obvious, when you use English UK, the names for emote should be switched. "football" for black and white ball, and "soccer" (Or other name.) for that game where you use hands instead of foots.
- Spelling. As you can see in the title, I used British spelling ("s" instead of "z".).
- Metric VS imperial system. This includes use of "/" instead of "p" (Per.) in words, eg. km/h, frames/s, m/s. But I think any of these words used to reffer to measurement are not mentioned anywhere on Discord's platforms.
- Long system VS short system. I am talking about math and I am aware that both US and UK uses short system, so it should be based on region, eg. EU (That means not UK, because they left.), Asia, africa, etc.
- 24 hour vs 12 hour should be defined too based on region. I'mn't sure but I think UK uses pm and am instead of 24 hour system.
If this would be accepted, I'd be very suprised, not only because discord is US platform, but also because it would take some efford, and most likely it would be declined because I unintentionally angered someone who's from US.
