screen flashes black while on discord while playing FFXIV

lve been having issues where my screen flashes black while voice chatting, so far its happened twice.

the common thread between these two times was that something had or was streaming through discord at the time. the first time it happened l was asked by a friend to check if their twitch stream was working and l viewed the video that was embedded into the text channel it was posted in, the second time it was when music was being played through a bot on a voice channel (one of those bots you link youtube vids to) which basically caused my screen to flash black leaving me to open and shut my laptop lid (which seems to work) to get visuals back (l'll have to reboot in order to avoid it happening again in the same session).

the only time its happened is when lve been on voice. the current steps lve taken is to disable overlays and l did run across a suggestion to open the Geforce control panel and add discord to use my preferred GPU as my Nvida card (as my laptop has an intergrated GPU as well as the Nvida card) but its happened since changing said settings.

lm currently left at a loss as to how to resolve the issue as ld like to be able to chat with friends while playing my MMOs (so far this has only happened on FFXIV as l havet had a chance to play any other games with friends yet while on discord) but so far the common thread is l had been streaming something while chatting.
