Server-Wide Text Chat Mute / Gag
Discord desperately needs a server-wide text mute / gag function that would prevent users from sending any chat messages for a specified time or permanently, similar to the server-wide voice mute that already exists.
It is extremely difficult and cumbersome to create a "text muted" role and prevent users from posting in every channel, especially for larger servers. There are many potential snags and issues with role hierarchy; users are often still able to chat despite setting up these roles.
TLDR: Server-wide text mute / gag for chat please. Creating a "text muted" role is way too difficult - it should just be a built-in feature.

I was hoping to find this permission so I could give it to my moderators. Under the "Voice Permissions" we have `Mute Members`. The same option should be under "Text Permissions". When I right click on a user, I can Kick, or Ban, Text Mute could be a good first step alternative to those drastic levels of channel moderation.
As an example, the other day a couple of users decided to just go crazy with texts and gifs. Everyone else on the channel were begging them to stop and then finally started tagging me asking for me to intervene. When I got there, the channel was a mess. I thought of going through and trying to delete each of the spam posts by hand, but that would have taken an hour. I finally just deleted and recreated the channel.
Enabling "Slow Mode" on a channel can help, but that affects everyone in the channel (unless they have higher permissions).

Now we know that Discord can easily mute anyone through rule screening. So it should be possible to take away the permission to write in text channels just like when one hasn't yet accepted the rules.
