I completely agree. I have no idea why they decided to get rid of the ability to only see the other people in the call. I just want to be able to only see the person that I am talking to AND the chat at the same time.

I hate the new layout. I use discord for my long distance relationship and suddenly not having my S/O be full sized is a HUGE pain. If you use discord as a half screen app, even with the chat closed, you can't have a single person be full screen. there's grid mode, and a mode with all users on the second half of the screen, that makes the other person's picture even SMALLER than a 2 person grid. Give us a toggle for the old layout at least, or turn it off for 2 person calls or something.

edit: I've found that if you pop the window out, you get the option to stop "showing members", which then lets you view the single person full screen, and then, you can scale the popped out window to the same size as where it cam from, pin it to top, and place it over that spot, so it's ALMOST the same as having it docked. Why is hide members available in fullscreen, popped out, or extended to cover chat, but NOT an option in the small, docked spot?

I agree. It messes with my OCD that the person I am Video Calling is to the left and that they're not full screen.  I also don't like that my face takes up a good portion of the screen...  I don't like look looking at myself when I'm talking.

It's so pointless not being able to have the video feeds allowed to be full screened. What's even the point of the full screen button, if it doesn't fill up my screen. It came at a inopportune time, when people are most likely video calling now.

Follow on to this - I was on a call with four people last night. I was using an iPad Pro 12.9" and it was in landscape mode. It's weird and uncomfortable to have the call UI show four vertical strips instead of splitting the window into a quadrant.

It'd be ideal if we could select how the video is laid out. At a minimum, using the same default that Slack or Microsoft Teams use for this would be preferable so that you can use more of the angle of the lens.
