Can we stop it with these massive UI overhauls?
Seriously, the UI was nothing less than perfect 3 months ago. But ever since then, we've had updates that have only served to hurt usability and make the app look worse. First we had that update 2.5 months ago that added the mouse hovering "features" along with the removal of seperator lines, which has been met with universal criticism, but the only way of partially undoing these changes as of late was to enable "Reduced Media" which doesn't even undo all of the changes made and gets rid of some other neat, wanted features as well.
Then came this update just a day ago that unnecessarily changed the mobile UI and completely fucked up the ScreenShare UI when we needed it the most. Is making the app uglier and harder to use supposed to be Discord's way of looking more "professional" by making it as clunky, frustrating, and ugly to use as something like Zoom? All it's doing is making the app worse for everyone, both the veterans who've used it since 2016 and the newcomers coming in because of the pandemic.
So if we can stop it with these large, bulky, clunky, and completely unnecessary UI overhauls, or at the very least put them on a seperate test client first so we can give some level of feedback before immediately pushing them out the door, Discord would be going in a much better direction.
