Major Japanese IME Bug and Inconsistent Font between Languages
A few things I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE discord to fix.
Firstly, an app-breaking bug for Japanese users. Discord recently added the feature where when you type an emoji command, it replaces the text in the box for writing a message with a physical image of the emoji. A cool and nifty feature, but it has an issue.
On Japanese IME, we need to press space to select a Kanji. Built into the Japanese IME are emojis. And of course, Emojis in the "write message" box, stop you being able to edit or write a message. Japanese IME sends the last thing you chose from IME to the top of the list, and because the last thing our IME knows is "entered an emoji", it immediately puts an emoji in the textbox again, which discord closes and leaves us unable to edit it. Basically, it forcibly closes our IME and makes us completely unable to use certain words.
This is a major bug and stops Japanese language setting from being properly functional on Discord. As a speaker of this language, I feel I can no longer use Discord properly and would absolutely love a fix.
Secondly, I've noticed an inconsistent font issue. Japanese font looks odd when on English language setting. As a Japanese speaker, it bothered me so I decided to set my font type to Japanese (which fixes it for some reason?). Then when I set it to Japanese, Chinese-specific characters look really weird and quite pixelated (see attached image for reference). Setting font consistently across all languages allows for a far smoother experience.
Hopefully both of these things will be of use to the Discord Team for how they can better improve support for languages going forward.

an example to test what this serious bug i'm talking about:
type すまいる and press space a few times to try and convert it.
i should also clarify, this is not a "some users" bug. this bug affects EVERYONE.

How did discord not already address this? This is a major accessibility issue!

Another example: type "てにす" and hit space to select the first result. It's a tennis ball emoji and before you can even go to the result after the emoji discord replaces the text with its emoji, making the selection of the katakana term (テニス) impossible because the IME menu closes automatically.

I have contacted support about this issue.
It seems to be a problem specific to Japanese (a language that needs to be converted). Some functions are limited, but you can avoid the trouble by taking the following actions.
For the above problem, please go to the Text and Image settings and turn off the "Use slash command to preview emoji, mentions, and markdowns" option.
They said that the problem is still continuing and there is no workaround other than this method.

Note this was resolved at some point, and if you have the option turned off you can turn it back on and emoji will no longer break your IME.
