April 2020 update
-
The menu should collapse, not the text chat area! Seriously, when the unimportant things like menus stay put and the important things - the main point of the app - move, something is wrong. Menus are collapsible. Chat histories aren't. And being able to find the "Mark as Read" button without fumbling and scrolling is crucial. Also, the Direct Message list and the Friends list need to go back to acting like the Server Room List and Chat History, where I can tap the Friends List/Direct Message icon at the top of the server list and have the collapsible Direct Message list beside my Friends List. They're part of the same idea, direct-messaging my friends. My friends list is not a separate idea from my direct messages list, so they should not be in separate tabs of the app.

i agree with you @Lunacae, this new layout is literally horrible and it's really messy for me

I agree with the swiping between channels mostly, feels like its giving me a stroke tbh

I just downgraded back to 16.0 (don't ask), no way was I gonna use that layout.

And how does one downgrade a mobile app from the Play Store? Because I would love to...

Just going to paste my play store review here since they told me to.
New ui as of 4-2-20 is ATROCIOUS. Swipe left to see sidebar now moves the chat to the right instead of the sidebar over the chat? Come on! Tired of paying nitro a year at a time and seeing these garbage choices implemented

@kas Use apk mirror. I get all my old versions of apps there

Are we talking about different versions of Discord? I’m using the current version (17.1) on Android and I’m not noticing any changes in general navigation.

I mean, the overall design isn't even that bad. However, the bad thing is emoji tab, it is tiny! I can barely see 3 lines of emojies here, please, make the emojis smaller or the emoji tab bigger. Thanks!
