Forum style thread conversation, what if Discord had it?
Discord currently has a single chat, where everyone talks and responds in the same wall of text.
This works fine generally in smaller servers, but is hell to try and find/search for topics or answers, and leaves little room to reply to users when they're not the current topic. Generally speaking when you go to a large servers general chat it's always active and just post after post after post, with no chance to reply to anything in specific. It's almost as bad as Twitch Chat.
In your standard forum users can respond to a user and it branches the conversion into its own thread, Be it putting the quoted text in a box, or making n entire new thread per response.
What if Discord had an optional live version of this? Where you could click on any text, and reply to it. It would then either quote that person or even better open up a sub chat menu where you and the original poster (along with whoever else joins) could chat in.
This would open the possibilities for formal replies, specific conversations about whatever topic, and so so much more.

Honestly, between channels, the quote function (that could use some improvement noted by someone else), and DMs, this is pretty covered.
