Hotkeys should not reset after logout

Overview:

Currently, when you logout from your account, then your hotkeys are reset.

 

The issue:

When you have multiple accounts (e.g Personal and Work), it can become a pain to add it again and again.

 

Suggestion:

Hotkeys should be linked to the user and not to session. There might be some edge cases (like logging from Mac and PC).

    It is so ridiculously dumb decision not to save settings automatically. I use my pc with my gf, and she has her own account on discord. And every single time, when she's playing, think what, she logs out from my account, and logs into her own. And every single time, when i should log into my account, i have to set my hotkeys back again. WTF?

    At first, i thought it was my fault, and something wrong with my installation of discord client. I was reinstalled it, but still after each login/logout they disappeared.

    And the most crappy thing, that there is no any marking that - "Your settings will be thrown away, after you logout".

    I am so angry about that fact. Because, there is no source code of discord client where i could fix it my self. And, for such an obvious thing, you are invite us to vote for this essential functionality, that should exist "by default"?

    Please store those settings in cloud, and let us decide to store them or reset.

    Agreed, I face the same issues.  I have the discord desktop client for Windows installed on my PC and whenever my wife wants to play VR she logs out of my discord login and into hers... whenever she does this and I log back into mine I have to rebind my hotkeys every re-login.  It'd be a real nice option to be able to store a local file for the client and to load these keybinds for the discord client... or better yet have something synchronous to discord servers that save users keybinds per account.  I understand that may put a strain on servers, so I'd at least want to have the option to put in on the desktop client.

    you mean even if i COULD somehow re-bound hotkeys so i could use special characters and pc shortcuts, it would all poof away when i had to log out?? THAT IS VERY SILLY.

    I've been dealing with rebinding my keybinds for like half a year. What's discord's take on this problem? It is a really small problem but it's for the convenience of people that uses multiple accounts or have multiple users on a pc.

    Still a huge pain 2 years later, kind of ridiculous. I'd love to use a 3rd-party client to fix this issue; too bad those are banned.

    This is still a thing, and what makes it even worse is that my client logs out whenever it's connected and the internet goes out. It's not just hotkeys, either, it's a LOT of settings, if not all of them.
