How is there STILL no chat export feature?

It seems like a suggestion or question along these lines shows up every few months and is summarily ignored. Is there a reason that even now, in 2020, there's still no native function to save message history in even a simple .txt format? MSN messenger was doing this in 2004. The third party chat exporter tool isn't even functional anymore since tokens are apparently no longer accessible.
