Screen Sharing Google Chrome has started flickering
I have been successfully screensharing from Google Chrome every day for the last month.
As of today, when I screen share Chrome (Version 81.0.4044.129) it flickers, looks like a Vista or Window 7 version of the same window. Flicker is visible both to me and to my viewers. Flicker only happens when streaming, when I disable the screen share it returns to normal.
Problem does not persist on Microsoft Edge.
I completed the latest Windows 10 updates (I was a little behind) last night, it might be related.
Video of the issue is here: https://youtu.be/am4ZlTTo5Zg
Thanks for all your hard work,
Thom.
EDIT 25/05/2020: Turning on hardware acceleration on chrome (settings -> advanced -> hardware acceleration) does fix this problem for some people. If you're having this issue please try this fix and report back if it worked for you like it did for me.Thanks for the report bloberenober!

Sadly no resolution yet, but the discord developers have been swamped by requests lately. Hopefully they'll be able to get to it sometime.
In a comment on the youtube video someone has said it's a windows 10 problem, but as even though it was caused by the windows update it seems to be an issue with the way that discord captures video from chrome, and doesn't happen with anything else that I've found. That feels to me like discord needs to change the method they're using to capture screensharing in Chrome.
If you're looking for an alternative in the meantime, discord works well with the new Chromium version of Microsoft Edge. I don't really like having to use a different browser and I never thought I'd recommend edge for anything, but strange times bring strange bedfellows.

Okay, thank you so much for your response! I hope that they fix this problem soon though.

I have the same issue. I thought it was only me and thought something was wrong with my pc, a huge relief to know it's not. I hope they fix this issue within a recent update.

I figured it out!
Ok, so I went into chrome, settings, searched for hardware acceleration, and it was turned off. I turned it off because I can't cast when it's on in OBS Studio. Enabling the hardware acceleration and restarting Chrome fixed the Discord flickering thing when sharing a Chrome window. I tried turning off hardware acceleration in Discord also, but this didn't fix it. Now I have to figure out IF I can have them both with HWD ACC off, as I can't cast into my OBS ... or turn it on on OBS... but that's a different issue.
Cheers, and hope this helps you.

I have the issue same to where I go to share Google Chrome on Discord, and then Chrome's windows start to flicker. If anyone finds a solution please let me know too.

I too am having this issue! I can't share Firefox or Chrome screens without flickering on my end! It always show the "Not Responding" on and off, flickering repeatedly! I hope they can find a way to fix this, because I like hosting movie nights and I can't very well with this issue.

I'm experiencing the same issue; turning on hardware acceleration doesn't work for me, sadly. One thing that works temporarily is going into windowed mode on Chrome (and then back into maximized), but it starts flickering again when I start using a different window (in other words, when Chrome window becomes inactive).
Hope this problem will be looked into asap :)
