On surface pro 7 in tablet mode changing text channel always pops up the on screen keyboard

Pretty much what the title says, I have a surface pro 7 and while I have the phisical keyboard detached changing beetween text channels always pops up the OSK (on screen keyboard).

This is pretty annoying considering 99% of the time I just wanna read and have to close the keyboard everytime that takes up a third of my screen.

Is there a way to make the keyboard pop up only when I touch the text bar at the bottom and not when I change channel?
