Image selection windrow taking images from .thumbnails in android

For a while I've been wondering why images that I download, at full resolution, later get re uploaded as clunky hyper compressed jpegs. After doing some research I found that the image selector windrow was taking images from my .thumbnails folder in DCIM, in other words, the compressed thumbnails that my file browser displays when looking through images. THESE SHOULD NOT BE SELECTABLE! please add an option to exclude certain folders from the inbuilt image upload browser, as I hate having to open up my file Explorer and upload things from the right locations or risk my memes getting all ChUnKy.
