Can the Discord Overlay work on the Desktop or Browser?

Is there anyway to do this? It is superior to the app in every way for me because I can have windows on screen and multitasking is actually possible with the overlay. I can have individual chat windows going on while working. I can actually USE Discord and focus on tasks. Can this be possible please?
