Please let us type :) and other emoticons without turning into emojis

Lame suggestion, I know. Just wanted to be able to type >:) to my friends without sending a large emoji.

  We can already do this. In settings you can stop the auto conversion

  You can already do this by typing \ before the text emotes. The slash will also disappear. As an example:  \:P  \>:)

  I don’t see the setting to turn it off in text and pictures on mobile
