6 processes, on the standalone desktop client?
what's the matter with you people these days - I am an IT-tech and software technical support professional - WHO TOLD YOU MULTI-PROCESSES ARE BETTER???? (they're not)!
come "tech-talk" with me (vocally) somewhere, so i can lend a hand

Sorry but if you think that multiprocessing is only bad then you dont know anything about IT.
Multithreading have its own flaws and if you take the Javascript nature into account you get that multiprocessing its more safer and more reliable. Its not faster, its not more memory efficient but its easier.
Nobody from discord will speak with you because you obviously dont know what are you talking about.1 -

-they claim on browsers..if one "Tab" crashes or gives you problems you can just kill that Tab (process),, and THAT never happens
-tell me when that has ever happened to you? has a Tab itself ever crashed? Like uh is it so hard to just simply RESTART your BROWSER, if a 'Tab' hangs you up?All the ==>multiprocessing and sandboxing and multi-content processes and sticking 'add-ons / extensions / and or Etc etc' ..into multi-different processes >>does no good,
in fact, it makes things worse and run slower and consume more resources too, ..and makes it a RAM HOG too..the list goes onnn

Yes, its better in browsers because yes, sometimes 1 tab crashes and that didnt take whole browser down. So yes, this happen.
Do you have some basic knowledge how javascript works? I dont think so because you completly missing a point how it works. I dont argue that this approach is eating more RAM and resources (as i said in my last post, but again, i understand, that with your low inteligence you have problem getting that), i am just telling you, that it is harder to do multithread in JS then multiprocess. And if you ever work on real project (from your expression it doesnt looks like it) you know, that sometimes its needed to do things easy way not better way.
You dont even understand that the Discord is running on Elektron which in nutshell simulate the chrome browser.1 -
no, "Tabs" don't crash, **it happens 1 in a million times, and, is NOT WORTH implementing Multi-processes for "once in a million" happenings
but i reiterate ..end the browser process (and or tree), and restart, (and if need be, upon restart , just X-out that Tab thats giving troubles, if it still is) --SIMPLE!

-Skype ..desktop client program, is similar, i would say, and has ties to microsoft's internet explorer
Skype (program) used to have one single process, ..now they have '2' --(note) but..they only run '2' → WHEN you..Disable--(in services.msc)--when you disable their 'web browser' addons -or whatever
Me? (i disable those instantly, whenever i have re-installed skype program)

then, ...just several months ago..it jumped to 6

If you are not code programmer and dont know the difference between javascript and other programing languages, then you can´t tell if implementantion of multithread/multiprocess in discord case have more disadvantages or advantagas.
If i have software issue i wouldnt go to you because in IT you are irelevant, same as me. You are not important in IT industry.

Yes, you are right with skype, it woks on same princip. But who cares about what you disable?
And actually, its something wrong with your configuration, because my Discord has 3 process, same as Skype which have 3 process as well.
And again, one process is better, but implementation of one process is harder in some cases and sometimes you dont have time to implement it. I understand your ignorance because I can see that you never worked on real project.1 -

Not only am i an IT-tech, i also perform benchmark tests on many popular programs (new and older), and i am an article writer and →reviewer (tester, and, feedback / input -thereon)
- again, ..i do not need to be a coder /programmer to experience, determine and, confirm Advantages - or - Disadvantages on the software applications that i am running and testing on

they couldn't stop tinkering with things and kept breaking 10 times more things than they tried to fix

and they push laptops in media and videos and pictures and everywhere
Ya always see some "model" ..sitting on a couch in some fancy apartment, staring down at her laptop on her lap as she lays on the couch ..smiling at it, ..and always has a cup of coffee in her hands or nearby! i know the whole routine
People noways (in recent years, ..since 2013'ish) PEOPLE HAVE BEEN RUINING THE WEB (web-experience), and it's been going downhill since 2013, it's not getting 'better' ..it's been getting worse, - because ignorant fools are web designers and web developers, and don't know their butt from their elbow
always trying to make Desktop experience into a kiddie Mobile version

'i' have the knowledge and skills to change the web back to what it used to be ,, these people these days have been ruining it, making things worse than before, and bring on more frustrations for users
