Custom discord URl/deep link

At the moment it seems like there is no way to have a discord message/channel link (https://discordapp.com/channels/<guildId>/<channelId>) open up the discord app (desktop or mobile) unless the link is clicked from within discord itself.

I think it would be a great addition to be able to have a custom URI of the sort "discord://........" which prompts the opening of the app instead of the web-client.

Granted the webclient permits for the link to go through, but it does make making use of the channel links rather cumbersome as users now end up with a webclient open as well as potentially the app.
