Censorship and breaching privacy

As many others have pointed out, your decision to develop "tools to help combat hate speech", or more accurately a bit to read and censor messages, is incredibly concerning. I'm a very liberal person so I don't necessarily agree with all the right wingers thoughts and opinions however your decision to take a political stance a as an apolitical chat service is just stupid and it also makes you look stupid when you routinely ignore issues like the Hong Kong protests but decide to shove this issue down our throats. I'm not even arguing that people shouldn't support blm, hell even you choosing to take such a stance isn't even the problem. It's when you violate our speech and our privacy that it becomes a problem. Yes it's your perogative to censor and control your service as a private business but don't expect people to sit back and let you just casually sift through private conversations and censor people for wrong thought. I remember when this platform said they'd never compromise the privacy of people's conversations then you changed your tos to say you could do that, and now you not so subtly reveal that you are looking into ways to violate our privacy. Please discord don't do this. You're already pushing away the community, don't dig your hole any deeper.

    Thank you for the support. This is not about left or right wing at this point. We're all together in this I hope. They're planning on violating our privacy and restricting our freedom of speech, and the idea needs to be dropped immediately, if they know what's good for them

    Thank you for saying it so well. I don't think I could have gone 2 sentences before calling them all the names in the world. For me it's confirmed now that Discord is being ran by filthy far left nutjobs, people who live their life in "guilt" for something they didn't do and now just sit there virtue signaling to increase their clout and financial gains and abuse their power over others (namely us, who use this service) to make them feel good about themselves. You will never be able to police thoughts, go f yourself. Hopefully we can find another platform ASAP, before we see people going to jail for saying "racist" jokes on Discord.

    America is going down the toilet and people like the ones running discord are flushing hard. Not everyone sees the world in black and white, you god damn lunatics.

    I've just gotten disabled for being in a mainly conservative debate server, me and over 300 other people were banned for no reason of our own. This is absolutely ridiculous.

    This is a prime example of the big tech companies, censoring what doesn't fit in with their liberal agenda, so much for free speech, it's a disgrace, time to gather the gamers up & shift platform, our private discord, teamspeak etc platforms should not be censored
