Image sharing problems on Android
At present the way the Android app seems to handle checking for images is to just search for all image format files on your device. This is in stark contrast to how every other social app does things, which only finds image files that are specifically saved in the folders that your phone's Gallery recognizes.
On the surface you might assume this is a good feature because it means you don't have to go looking for photos you might not have saved to your gallery...but it creates a compatibility problem with other apps like Telegram, which automatically download images to a folder in order to view them in app. This means if I scroll through a Telegram group chat that has a few dozen images posted, I will see all of those random images when trying to select a photo to share on Discord, before I see the last photo I actually took, or last image I purposefully saved in my Gallery. The more images I've seen on Telegram within the minimum 3 day deletion cycle the app allows for auto-delete, the more random crap I have to sort through in Discord before I can find something I saved on purpose that I want to find.
This would not be a problem at all if Discord followed the same protocol as other social apps, where it only recognizes images from the same subset of folders that the Gallery looks at, or at least gave us the option to set what folders the image attachment feature looks at.
