If you have one person/bot/webhook that won't stop messaging @everyone or @here, you don't have many options. You could block the person, but what if you like them and just wish they would stop abusing role and server pings so often? You could suppress @everyone/here/role/mentions for the channel or server, but there are other important notifications you want or need to receive. You could tell them to stop, but they tend to not listen or take hints very well
An easy solution would be a Mute option where one specific person can still message you just fine, but any DMs, Mentions, and so on wouldn't create a notification, both in Discord itself and as a push notification. Perfect for that one person who won't stop pinging @everyone every hour because they're bored. I'm looking at YOU, JOHN! >:/
(Note, no such person as John actually exists. Please do not harass any friends or relatives that so happen to be named John, as this John is about as real as a certain brother in a certain 3D platformer)
