Default Download Folder
This should be an obvious addition but it would be great if we could set a default download location so we dont have to keep choosing where to save images or whatever.
Im not saying this has to be a priority or anything but it shouldnt be too difficult to add in the Settings.

Good idea! Like the default "Telegram Desktop" folder?

Yes!! It's so frustrating to have to change the download location EVERY SINGLE TIME

This would be a very helpful quality of life change!

I honestly don't know anyone who saves image files in their default Downloads folder instead of the proper default "Pictures" or "My Pictures" folder. If nothing else, Discord needs to stop disabling the operating system's settings for where different file types are saved by default. They must have had to go to quite a bother to specifically override that behaviour to make image files save in Downloads instead.
Why hasn't this issue been corrected yet, nearly a year later, I want to know!

It seems like for about a year now and up until today, when I asked Discord to put the image in a different folder, it at least remembered the alternate folder until I shut down Discord. As of today, I have to override the folder every single time. Can these please be configurable, or have it remember your last folder selection? Even if the config location is someplace irritating to get to? Please?

Wait; you got it to REMEMBER a different download folder? How?
Even if it was only temporarily, that's more than anyone else has managed to do!
Seriously, who puts picture/graphics files in their downloads folder, instead of their "My Pictures" folder?
All it would take is for Discord to stop overriding the Operating System's default file save locations protocols. How much did they have to code to make it always go against the system defaults to go to the Downloads folder?0 -
Jhericho - Sorry for that confusion. Your comment made me go back and look at what I'm doing. It seems I've gotten in the habit of just always clicking "Open original" on images, which opens the thing in my browser, which DOES remember the last folder when I do a save. :-/

While waiting for a solution, the workaround I did was to create a shortcut on the Downloads folder whenever I need to be quickly acessing my Images folder. It works until I've actually downloaded too much stuff on the downloads folder (it will go down the list), then I need to delete it and create again.

How is this still a thing?! Discord is the only application I'm having this issue with currently. It is a real pain having to navigate each time to the folder I use every time.
I have tried so many workarounds, nothing works. The creating a shortcut in the downloads folder works, until that folder fills up enough. Please for the love of BOB, fix this, add the "feature".
Love,
Bob.

How is this not added yet?

TBQH it'd be easier to just use the “browser default last save location” within Discord, which uses Chromium, other Chromium apps use this ability

i completely agree with this
