Sync Dark Mode / Light Mode to System Theme on Windows and macOS
Currently, I have my computer set up to switch to Dark Mode during sunset and it would be fantastic if Discord could add a setting to desktop to follow the System Theme. This is the default behavior for Native Windows and macOS apps and currently Discord is the only app I use that doesn't follow it.
Without the setting, users with a similar setup have to manually switch Discord's theme every night and morning, which can be inconvenient (and sometimes blinding :( ).
This feature already exists on iOS (Appearance>Theme>Automatic), so it would increase feature parity between the platforms to add it to desktop too.
Given that you all are running a fork of Electron 10.0 (based on your GitHub repo) you can take advantage of the updated event of the built-in nativeTheme Electron module (added in Electron 9.1.12) to listen for theme changes and apply them accordingly on both platforms (and possibly Linux too).
Hope you'll consider this (relatively) minor change that would make a big difference to me and others in terms of usability.
P.S. I know a bunch of people don't like light mode, but I really appreciate it during the day, so thank you all for supporting it despite some of the negativity.

Great idea, and when the Android users will have the the Automatic feature as well, this is a standard in all other apps that I'm using.
I appreciate the light theme on a day time, and yes it can be better, like way better. I'll go ahead and say it that Discord has the ugliest light theme ever, it's really remarkable for app of this magnitude to achieve that, but like I say I still prefer it during the day.
One more thing, true black (AMOLED) theme is also a must imo.2 -
I hope they will one day, I want Discord to adapt to the system theme and change the theme with the OS automatically. It is the only application that does not allow it!
Although many do not like the clear theme, the option would not be bad for those of us who have no problem with it.0 -
They just added it
