How do I disable the What's New dialogue?

Agreed.  This is isn't there to provide anything users want; it's essentially just advertising for Discord that is being pushed on us for business reasons.  Fine, except that I was a Nitro subscriber, and I am not going to both pay for something and be subjected to ads.  I've cancelled my Nitro subscription as long as Discord insists on treating me like an audience for advertising.

Yeah, there really needs to be a setting to disable this.  It’s not so much of a problem if you’re only signed into Discord on one device.  But if you’ve got n devices, then you get spammed n times by the what’s new dialog.  And given how often you all show the what’s new page, it gets old real, real fast.

But like OP said, most of the time I just don’t care in the first place.

There is already a “What's New” section in settings.  If I really cared, I'd go check it out there.

Admiral Akdov  It just loads the What's New dialog again.

You cared enough to leave a comment here, but it would have taken less effort just to try it yourself and see it does absolutely nothing useful. 🤔

gingernutz   I was agreeing with you.  It is obvious that I already knew what the “What's New” section does thus the pop up you were complaining about is useless and intrusive.  I suppose I could have spelled it out but I didn't expect that I'd have to.

Lets resurrect this beast for a moment. If I was at all the type of person to spend money on these things, I'd go find stuff in the shop to buy or whatever. I'm not. I'm never going to. I don't mind a big pop up that says “hey, this is a thing” but let me turn it off. I don't need to have ads hucked at me everywhere. It's not like it's just discord. It piles on. We have to deal with this stuff all over the place.

I submitted a support request to tell me where the setting to disable this is. I consider it to be my part of a petition of sorts.  I guess if they don't add a setting for that, I'll go find a different app.
