Make Mute and Nothing notification settings work for channel, regardless of @role mentions.
To get to the heart of the problem. Mute and Nothing for per-channel mutes are both redundant / useless for Red Ping # when discord is minimized. Mute disables sound, nothing is useless when you're @role mentioned. Both don't suppress Ping Count. Make one of them work.

For example, similar to this thread, I want to keep my @role to be informed in text channels that I regular, and mute @role in more seldom used ones.
Mainly because I pay great attention to the Red Number ping and it becomes useless when I cannot rely on the number / continually empty out notifications or worse, mute the entire server or discard a role that should be otherwise helpful causing me to miss important messages because i can't access the appropriate filter.

I second this. Per-channel mutes should be able to suppress (at)everyone and (at)here.
I'm in a busy discord and I have some channels muted. Yet every time someone "everyone"s or "here"s I get a ping. Likewise when they use the role ping. I muted the channel with "nothing" fir a reason. Nothing should really mean nothing.

Precisely! The discord server I am in contains hundreds of active users and lots of newcomers as well. I think that this would benefit larger servers essentially, in addition, I rely on pings to maximize the function of the server.
