Instead of replying to a message to tag someone, have them react with their @.

Possibly have a dedicated @ icon as one of the reactions, so users can quickly tag another on a message.

This would minimize the amount of messages in a channel, making everything look cleaner.

This would be extremely helpful in large servers, where tens of users are messaging at a time.

    This is a fantastic idea. Alongside it, they could put it in settings to turn it on and off for your personal account, so that if you don't want people to be able to ping you this way, they won't be able to.
