Voice Chat Massive CPU Usage
My discord been using a lot of cpu since the new look update when doing voice chat. It was using 15% of cpu before but now is using 70% of cpu which is abnormal and disturbing because of the lag i got from gaming... Can you guys please make it lower??

i'm having the damn same issue since last update. My CPU usage went up from 5% to 60% or even more, it only happens while joining a voice channel for me.
I tried all the listed fixes i found (delete cache, change setting, update drivers, reinstall discord...) but nothing fixes it.

I've noticed this exact issue 4 or 5 days ago too. Any time I join a VC cpu usage goes to ~40% and more (At my 1.86 GHz Intel Pentium P6000 processor).
After many random attempts to find any solution for this, I've come to this:
1) Fiddling around with your a.u.d.i.o devices at "Voice & Video" settings (Changing them to "Default" option and back for a few times) might temporally give you normal cpu usage, but as soon as somebody speaks or you deafen cpu usage will be as high as previously. Obviously, this doesn't have much use for us, but I thought I'd better share it
2) For me, for whatever reason, this issue becomes bearable (Cpu usage goes to somewhat normal ~10%) when somebody is talking in the VC. So best thing I've got right now is to sit with a bot, who constantly plays something on loop on minimal volume. It doesn't work perfectly, because there's still spikes in cpu usage quite often, but for now this is best "solution" I have :(
Besides that I have tried a bunch of other things, which didn't helped me personally, but maybe will help you: Turning Hardware Acceleration On/Off; Running Discord as administrator; Using Push-To-Talk instead of Voice Activity (Helped me in past); Reinstalling discord; Praying to Wumpus.
You can also try finding something else that helps you by experimenting with settings. I would recommend to use Process Explorer instead of default Task Manager, since it gives you a lot more functions (Such as performance graphs of tasks). <3

New very cool finding:
Using Discord in browser seems to be A LOT better. Cpu usage is way smaller and spikes occur less often, and even when they do they're way smaller. Obviously interface works (at least for me) a little bit slower, but I wouldn't say it's that meaningful.
I've only tried that in latest version of Firefox, so you may want to try this or something else. Good luck, m8!0
