Severe lag when changing between text channels on mobile after most recent update

When swapping between text channels there is an extremely noticable 1-2 second lag before anything happens after the most recent Android update. I tried disabling the sticker suggestion option that was also added in the update, but this didn't resolve the issue. I also tried clearing my cache and data for the app, but this also did not help.
