Suggestion: Being able to change nicknames in DMs

We can all agree that Discord is mainly an Internet application for online activities where we can stay safe and anonymous behind an online nickname- it's great because it makes us feel more comfortable and safe when on an a server with thousands of strangers. But as it's being used more and more for casual messaging with people you know personally, I think it would be extremely useful to be able to change your own nickname to the people you talk to in DMs- and being able to change other nicknames as well. I think that would be incredibly useful in case you forget your friends online nickname or you have one you use everywhere but feel uncomfortable sharing with people you know personally.

This would make the community able to use their own real name to their friends while still felling safe on an online server.

    I agree. People create their own names and it can be hard to keep track of who's who. It would be nice to be able to give people nicknames so that you can remember who they are. Particularly as this moves into more mainstream spaces like schools and colleges.
