Allow messages in threads to be sent to the channel containing the thread
In Slack, when you send a message in a thread, you can check a box to also send the message to the channel containing that thread. This feature is great because, while threads are useful to separate sub-discussions and avoid having them clutter the main channel, things that happen in the thread can occasionally become relevant to the main channel. Sending a message in the thread and to the channel would both notify users who hadn't joined the thread, and make it easy for them to find and join the thread in case they want to follow future discussion (as opposed to just sending one message in the channel that's not in the thread).
If this were implemented, Discord could also integrate replies with threads: replying to a message could create a new thread starting from that message and send the first message (the reply) to both the thread and the channel. There would probably still be a place for normal replies as they exist now, but in case someone anticipates that the reply might generate a large discussion, having it in a thread could avoid cluttering the main channel while also keeping the first message (the one that was replied to) in the thread as context.

Yes, yes!
Was about to post this myself.
If there was a setting to allow that to be turned on/off so users COULD keep it separate if they wanted that would be awesome.
It would help out immensely with moderation as well. No longer needing to open the thread to moderate whats inside of it.0
