Please let us turn off reply pings/disable the ping by default.

For the love of all that is peaceful and holy, please let us turn off reply pings by default, either as a personal option or server-wide thing or hell, even just per-person! I have multiple servers where i've asked people not to ping me and they will literally use the reply feature to say "okay" and PING ME IN DOING SO. I spoke less than two minutes ago. Or they'll 'forget' and ping me again the next day, over and over. 

please please please, I am begging, I miss knowing peace.

    I'll second this.

    I hit the switch from on to off for about 95% of all my replies, because whilst I want to have my response in context in mixed chat channels, I don't need to ping the person for a response
