Creating Threads From Old Discussions

It would be nice to be able to create new threads for old discussions.

Basically the procedure would be to go to an old message that starts a topic, create a new thread from it, then find subsequent messages that are relevant to the topic and freely add them in (time stamp?) order to create an archive of "Greatest Hits" or "Useful Info".

    Just creating a thread from multiple messages from the start would be good too.
