Threads: Auto-join all threads.

I feel like this is particularly important from an admin/moderator standpoint.  Currently new threads can be created and go unnoticed unless you actively join the thread, potentially leaving moderators out of the loop on active conversations they should probably be moderating.

The thread creation notice can be deleted to further hide active threads, leaving only two places to see an active thread.  A moderator would have to be actively clicking the thread button at the top to see which threads are active and then join them to get activity notifications.

The notification setting for threads should default to the parent channel in any and all situations until the user changes it themselves.

Auto-join threads should be an option for servers you moderate at a minimum, if not configurable on a server-to-server basis for any user (moderator or not). At the moment it is incredibly frustrating trying to moderate threads.

I got frustrated with this and added a preference to Fletcher to auto-add a specified list of moderators (defaulting to the server owner) to threads created in channels that those users are in. But honestly, Discord, this should have been thought through better - one should not need a bot just to do this.

I agree. However, I feel this would do well as a channel permission though. Set roles with a permission that automatically makes people with that role join a thread created in that channel.

This has a huge impact, allowing admins to assign moderators to automatically join public threads when they are created, so that they can more easily moderate the threads. It also allows admins to pick and choose. Maybe they want everyone to automatically join new threads. Maybe only certain staff members. Maybe specifically only certain people auto-join. Whatever they like.

good idea, have the same problem on my server. in the default settings discord shows only 12 entries from users. its not many text. it would be better if the default setting by discord would show more text in the textchannels.

if you see more, you have more activity because a user reads more and think about it and the chance is higher that he begins to write or discuss about something which he have read. users are not always on their discord screen. sometimes maybe on their internetbrowser and nobody want to scroll up.

i have set the my settings on 16 px chat-scaling and the distance/space between messages on only 8 px. that should be the default settings by installation for all discord users in my opinion.

threads should join automatically. because if i open a thread there are only a few users who actually see the only 12 entries on the screen. after this is the thread invite-text away from screen. if there come someone later because he is in his internet browser nobody scroll up and look for the possibility that there could be a thread or not.
