Viewing threads in the sidebar (instead of the user list)

When first opening a thread, or clicking on it in the chat it opens in the sidebar on the right, which is great and I love it. My issue is that it chat in that channel is moving quickly, it is very easy to lose that link in the channel and become unable to open the sidebar thread again.

I can always view it like a regular channel by selecting it in the channel list on the left, but that kind of defies the point of it I think.

I would suggest that when clicking the "Threads" button at the top right and selecting a thread there, it should open it in the sidebar instead of taking you to the whole screen version.
