Collapsable Channel Panel | (toggle-able) (defaults to show)

> *disclaimer: I recognise there are other threads going back year. Just adding my voice and personal perspective to the conversation. In other words ... bump.

It would be use full to me to be able to horizontally collapse the "channel panel" in a similar fashion to the "Members List" panel.

I run discord at 80% zoom, compact options enabled on a 1440p vertical screen with the members panel closed; and still find myself wishing for more space for the actual text conversation part of the screen.

A method akin to the VSCode implementation would be ideal, shown here (streamable link), but perhaps with some clearer UI element giving the ability to bring the panel back for less technologically savvy people.: 

Secondly; is there any repository where I can implement these changes myself to accompany feature requests. Being able to include a working implementation would be great 😊
