The Voice and Video mic test is not functioning correctly.
I have all voice processing off. Yet the mic test sounds like there is echo cancellation being applied to it. This only happens on the electron-based native Discord client. This issue has happened to me on Windows and Linux. You guys need to stop slacking on these issues. I need an accurate sound test for my mic through discord. Also for the love of god, please stop using electron it sucks so bad. If you must, please use a more up-to-date version.

Yes, I have been testing this as well. I have turned off all voice processing features and ran a matrix of all the toggles of the voice and video settings. Whenever I sing or hum a sustained note, there is a phase-like effect where the sound will cut back in/out or distort. Same thing happens when using a soundpad through Discord as well. All my microphone testing software does not have this issue and it is present across browser desktop versions of Discord. However I can't tell on mobile.
I am a software developer myself. I started my career in tech as a help desk technician in IT troubleshooting software. Its very frustrating when you are finding the bugs. There must be a good reason this has not been fixed. My first thought was legal reasons with copyright issues. However if that were true then how come Steam Voice Chat doesn't have this problem? lol Steam voice chat isn't even that popular but it has better quality without the phase shift. Thus, Discord is really just a feature-rich UI, but seriously lacks quality where it matters in terms of the most important functionality as a voice chat application. I would like answers too, my friend.
