Wondering how the "Users must be over 13" rule work
I have a question.
Lets say someone created an account in 2018 when he was 10, but he never revealed his age and he is being mature and didn't face any threat, so he didn't get banned due to underage.
Now, lets say he is turning 13 today, and he said something like "Today is my 13th birthday!". Is he still bannable by Discord ToS with the "Over 13" rule? He already met the minimum age requirement, but he did access Discord before he met the minimum age requirement.

This is kinda a petty thing, ngl. Because he is now 13, he's within the TOS. You can't arrest someone for drinking before they were 21 on their 21st birthday if they were not caught. His parents really should have been the ones to make sure that he wasn't doing things he shouldn't have been, but at this point, there is not really anything that can be done. Younger children are always joining social media, like Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok before they are within the TOS age limit, and it's really on the parents to monitor their children, not some huge company that has more to deal with. If he was respectful and mature, and never faced anything dangerous or scary, there is no reason to try and get him banned. The TOS is more to PROTECT children from harmful things they could encounter on these platforms, as adult spaces are not always safe for children. Not to outright ban them from the platform. Some children are not equipped with the tools to deal with some scary adults, and the internet is vast and some spaces within are just not safe for children to venture in, and with millions of users, a company like Discord cannot be expected to have accountability of everyone. As long as this kid is safe, not causing any issues, I don't foresee any action coming down on him. I don't work with discord, but this is how many SocMed companies usually handle things, as I have seen.
