Stop changing emoticons into the discord emojis

I was to be able to say :D and :) and :( and everything without them changing. Emojis don't convey the right emotions and look unnatural and disgusting. It should at least give me a choice. Please give us a choice. Like "press here if you want to change :) to a smile emoji!" There are ways to get emojis normally (by pressing the emoji button) but no way to send a tet emoticon. This is bullshit.

    You can bypass this by putting a \ infront of your message.

    Examples:

    \:)

    \:(

    \:D

    You can stop Discord from doing that in User Settings.

    User settings>Text and images (under app settings)>automatically convert emoticons in your message to emojis
