hi there! while i agree with you on this, it is also up to the user to take in consideration that is is literally the internet, lol. weird people are going to send sketchy links and there isn't much you can do about it. if you are a server owner / admin, it's in YOUR hands to make sure bots cant get into your server and send phishing links. if you are worried about non-friends sending material that could harm you, you should probably turn off "Allow direct messages from server members" in the "Privacy & Safety" tab in settings and only add who you trust.

Ryxes Nex, strongly dissagree. It's like saying if your card got frauded, it was in YOUR hands to not use the card in the store. I think it's in Discord's best interest to protect their users as much as possible. Or by allowing server owners to disable DMs for the entire server. Raid bots have gotten smarter.
