Adding messages to threads
Ok so I love threads & the fact that Discord finally has them is absolutely awesome!
We're trying to utilise them as much as possible with our team, however so far we had very little luck at striking the point where they actually bring value.
The reason is that we're creating them at the worst possible time. These are the typical scenarios:
1. There's something that seems to be requiring a thread, so we make one - 24 hours later there's like 2 messages in the thread because it got resolved much faster than we anticipated.
2. There's something that seemingly doesn't require a thread, but the discussion ends up containing 10s-100s of messages all "spamming" the main chat.
Both of those scenarios could be IMO solved by a very elegant feature:
- You see a discussion in the main channel spinning out of control
- You create a thread to encapsulate the topic
- You move all related messages from the channel to the thread
WIN!
You reckon you can add this? <3

Currently, you can select any message and easily click the "Create New Thread" button to create new thread using that thread as the Topic.
You can also click the menu (---) for a message and select Create New Thread. This is redundant annd unnecessary since you already have a button dedicated to creating a new thread.
What needs to be added to the menu (---) is "Copy to thread" or "Move to thread" where you are then asked to pick a thread from the list of existing threads. Copy would copy the message to the thread, but move would move it. This would allow you to maintain existing posts in your threads.
An additional feature that would be nice is to be able to highlight several sequential messages and right-click to select "Create Thread", "Move to Thread", or "Copy to Thread".
These are simple fundamental things that should not be hard to implement. Please, it's been years now, please do this. Thank you.
